Abstract

In 2019, the value of the global e-cigarette and vape market was $12.41 billion USD. Between 2020 to 2027, this value is anticipated to increase by 23.8%. This article constitutes an overview of this industry in the United States and a preliminary investigation of the electronic cigarette and vaping markets that should be of value to clinicians who deal with the unintended consequences of using such products, to administrative and political coalitions that seek to reform the health care industry, and to legal professionals who seek to advocate for advancing a better health care system. Further, this article seeks to lead the discussion of finding a balance between free market, potential societal addiction, therapeutic and financial considerations.
